BERLIN -(Dow Jones)- Siemens AG (NYSE:
SI -
News) said Tuesday that Ian Moyes, the head of
the group's mobile phone handsets division, died on Dec. 28.
Moyes became head of the division on Sept. 1. Prior to that he had held
various marketing and management positions at Germany's largest engineering and
electronics company since 1986.
The mobile handset segment is one of five divisions within the Siemens mobile
unit.
Rudi Lamprecht, the board member who oversees Siemens mobile, will temporarily
take over Moyes' position, a spokesman said.
Siemens is the world's fourth-largest mobile phone maker.
