Siemens chief dies

Siemens Mobile Phones president Ian Moyes died suddenly on 28 December.
Moyes, a 17-year veteran of the company leaves a wife and two children.
Moyes, 48, was made president of the mobile phones division in September 2003 after a career in which he had worked in product marketing, customer services and most recently as director of Siemens Information and Communication Mobile in the UK.
Moyes, well known to the industry, was said to have been well and active when he visited the manufacturer’s UK office shortly before Christmas. UK staff said they were shocked and saddened by his passing.
Siemens Information and Communications Mobile president Rudi Lamprecht will now take on Moyes’ duties on a temporary basis.
